The Mini Mozart program, has been at the forefront of innovative programs using parallel music activities for Special Education for Second Start, in developing musical skills creates a positive self image, has uhheld the standards. This has assisted in creating an even more unique and superior school for autism and Asperger's syndrome or Asperger's Disorder, also sometimes called high functioning autism
The Mini Mozart Music Program is particularly useful with Autism/Aspergers/ ED children owing in part to the nonverbal, non threatening nature of the medium. Parallel music activities are designed tosupport the objectives of the student as observed by the parent, teacher or other professional.
The Mini Mozart Music Program enhances and develops a positive environment for the child's need to socially interact with others. Developing musical skills creates a positive self image where past experiences may have only been negative.
Social interaction is required and developed in a nonthreatening environment teaching needed social skills. Preferred music may be used contingently for a wide variety of cooperative social behaviors.
